We shine a spotlight on one of our LHC Community members, celebrating the success of our competition winners. Meet Norbert, our COMP 11 winner, who proudly took home a Leica M6 Titanium.

Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
I grew up in Southern California in the United States. Lived mostly in California and now in San Diego.

How did your journey in photography begin, and why did you choose Leica cameras?
As a wedding and event photographer wanting to reduce my kit but retain quality and shoot primes, I chose Leica. Learned about the heritage and importance of the brand to photography during my switch.

What type of photography do you enjoy most, and how does your Leica equipment enhance your work?
Retired from shooting weddings and events. I now shoot street photography. Leicas are compact, tactile, stealthy and have wide angle lens proven by past street photographers through their iconic work.

Which Leica camera and lens combo is your favorite?
The Leica Q (any variant) is a favorite with its 28mm Summilux. Filmwise, the Leica M-A is the ultimate camera.

Which camera did you WIN from us?
I won the Leica M6 Titanium.

Do you prefer film or digital photography, and why?
I prefer digital now for the ability to play with contrast and dynamic range. But film is timeless and irreplaceable.

How has using Leica cameras shaped your photographic style?
Leicas have reduced the separation between me and the image. It's no longer a camera or a tool. It's my third eye, blinking a memory into a tangible form.
