Exciting News: Leica Announces the Launch of the D-Lux 8!
Leica Camera AG has just unveiled some thrilling news for photography enthusiasts—the launch of the Leica D-Lux 8 is set for 2nd July 2024. This release marks the latest addition to Leica's celebrated line of compact digital cameras, a journey that began back in 2003 with the first D-Lux. Over the years, this series has seen eight generations and numerous special editions, solidifying its reputation in the premium segment of Leica’s digital compact cameras.
So, what makes the Leica D-Lux 8 so special? This new model encapsulates the classic Leica experience in a more compact and accessible form. The iconic design and user-friendly experience are true to the legendary Leica brand, renowned worldwide for its excellence in photography.
One of the key highlights of the D-Lux 8 is its 4/3” CMOS sensor, which offers 22 MP (effective 17 MP), paired with the fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens (equivalent to 24-75mm on a 35mm camera). This combination promises exceptional image quality and versatility. Additionally, the camera features a streamlined and ergonomic design, making it a pleasure to use. The user interface, inspired by the popular Leica Q-Cameras, has been refined to be even more intuitive.
In a first for the D-Lux series, the D-Lux 8 supports the versatile DNG format, giving photographers more flexibility in post-processing. Connectivity is a breeze with the Leica FOTOS app, ensuring seamless integration with your digital workflow. The included flash expands the camera’s capabilities even further, making it suitable for a wide range of shooting scenarios.
